C. DENIS KELLY, FOUNDER


C. Denis Kelly was a science graduate of University College Dublin, Ireland. His post graduate studies included work on the MBA programme at Columbia University, New York, Harvard Marketing, and Finance at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.


In the course of his professional career, he worked in Continental Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific Region. His areas of responsibility involved product and corporate marketing, post merger corporate restructuring and the reorganisation and development of industry at a national level. He worked with CTT (the Irish Export Board) and was appointed Assistant Irish Trade Representative in New York and then Irish Trade Representative in Canada. In the ‘60s, he worked with the Confederation of Irish Industry and, in the late 60’s, he became chairman of the Irish Furniture Adaptation Association.


In 1970, he established Associated Marketing Ltd. to provide specialist marketing, sales and debtor management services initially to Irish furniture manufacturers. Over the years following, the company expand both internationally (into the Middle East) and also into other product areas (contract floorcoverings and others).


In later years and in his retirement, C. Denis Kelly became a mentor on the Marketing Development Programme at the Smurfitt Graduate Business School, University College Dublin. He also wrote and spoke extensively on global economics, morality and ethics and had several articles published.


C. Denis Kelly died in November 2005 and is survived by his wife, 4 children and 14 grandchildren.
